If a skin graft turns out to be the best procedure for your problem, then you would need to obtain prior authorization (via a request from your treating physician to your carrier) to pre-determine if your insurance carrier will pay for the procedure. The cost of this surgery will depend on the magnitude and extent of the scar and can only be set by your treating physician. « less

In addition, travel by airplane within the first week could be problematic due to nasal swelling and potential inner ear problems with rapid change in altitude. Finally, assuming you are not now pregnant, having child is not a problem following rhinoplasty. If you are currently pregnant, it would be inadvisable to undergo elective surgery during the pregnancy. « less
- Dr. Roden,
I had a tummy tuck about 2 years ago, and recently underwent a partial hysterectomy. I noticed from both procedures a small area on the lower right side of my stomach (directly above the vaginal area)is swollen. The area is swollen more now than after the tummy tuck. I ask my doctor why is this side protruding so much more than the left side (actually the left side is flat), she conveyed that the fascia muscle is very dense on that side and further indicated that there really nothing I could do about it. Quite honestly, I don't want to go through another surgery (too painful and the recovery time is too long). It has been 1 month since the hysterectomy. Do you think that there may still be some swelling and more importantly will lower ab exercise assist in flattening that area? maybe a compression garment? The hysterectomy was performed by c-section. , I have a vertical cut extending about a quarter of an inch past my navel.
Thank-you for your feedback.

- I'm a woman, 62, with good quality skin (not wrinkled) and youthful appearance. But my lips are very thin and aged looking, deep laugh lines, and skin at the mouth was very flabby. Some sagging beneath the chin and upper lids. I was told by several plastic surgeons that minimal work would be needed to make a huge difference in my appearance.
December 2006, on the advice of the surgeon, I had a brow and lower face lift and upper lids done. Now, 8 months later, I'm aghast at the final results. It looks like I never had a lift. The jowl area is nearly as bad as before the lift, with sagging still under the chin. Plus, he pulled (sutured) the outer lid of my right eye downward rather than away from the eye, so that it now has a downward tilt. I can feel it tugging.
All of this can be verified through photos. It's not just my opinion.
I'm very depressed that I paid so much money for almost no improvement--especially after being told that my face is an easy case requiring little repair.
Is a plastic surgeon under any obligation to meet a certain standard? Do I have any recourse at all?

Have an open mind and listen to what, if any, additional treatment may be appropriate for your concerns.
