Have you been told that you snore or stop breathing in your sleep? These are signs of obstructive breathing and can be extremely dangerous to your health. Other signs of possible sleep disorders include excessive daytime sleepiness, morning headaches, and restless sleep. It is important to speak to a physician about some of these symptoms. Untreated sleep disorders like Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) can lead to increased incidence of hypertension, stroke, and cardiac arrhythmias. Recent research has also linked OSA to diabetes, obesity, and ADHD in children.

South County Sleep Disorders Medical Center is a full-service, physician-based sleep center, providing comprehensive care to our patients. We provide the following services:
  • Consultations with our sleep specialist
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnograms performed by our experienced technologists
  • Analysis of sleep studies down in-house by a Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) and our sleep specialist
  • Follow-up care related to diagnosed sleep disorder, including PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) compliance
  • PAP support group (Sweet Dreams) meetings that are open to the public
  • Online discussion group for PAP users (send email to southcountysleep@gmail.com to join)
  • Individual assistance with PAP issues with our RPSGT
Dr. Harish Murthy (our sleep specialist and medical director) has been serving the San Jose and Gilroy areas for more than seven years. He is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Our sleep center manager, Teresa Ruff, RPSGT, has been in sleep medicine for three years.
